We are a community-driven repository committed solely to fan-translated Sinhala subtitle files (.srt, .zip). We do not operate intrusive tracking mechanisms, monetize your private identity, or distribute personal data to advertising brokers.
2. Information We Collect
A. Public Anonymous Interactions
Browsing subtitles and downloading archive packages requires zero registration. When leaving comments under subtitles, the display name and text you input become publicly readable. We strongly advise against submitting phone numbers, real-world addresses, or sensitive personal credentials in public feedback fields.
B. Creator & Contributor Accounts
When translators register an account to contribute subtitles, we store their email address, pseudonym/creator alias, and cryptographically hashed passwords. Plaintext passwords are never accessible or stored in our database.
C. Technical & Diagnostic Logs
Like most modern web services, our Edge CDN and cloud routing layers temporarily process standard operational headers—such as IP addresses, browser user agents, and referring URLs—exclusively to mitigate DDoS attacks, safeguard against malicious automated scraping, and monitor bandwidth consumption.
3. Cookies and Session Storage
SubNext.lk uses strictly necessary, HTTP-only authentication cookies for logged-in subtitle creators and administrators. We do not place third-party cross-site behavioral tracking cookies. Client-side local storage may be utilized solely to preserve your visual preferences (such as theme rendering or dismissible interface announcements).
4. Third-Party Infrastructure & Metadata
To enrich title overviews, SubNext fetches public movie metadata (posters, genres, synopsis) from The Movie Database (TMDB) API. Subtitle files are securely held within Our Cloud Storage and served via global edge caching nodes. These vendors operate under their own enterprise-grade privacy and security standards.
5. Your Data Rights & Contact
Registered creators retain the right to modify their alias, inspect their submitted subtitles, or request permanent deletion of their account records.
